When most people use the term "ghost" they are referring to anything truly unusual. An image, sound, smell, feeling, emotional state, or movement of objects, and they usually mean some sort of force left over after death. The force can be that of someone who is still very much alive. "Apparations of the living." These can be people in distress or on their death bed who's spirit energy shows up at another location to say good bye.

To explain how a mind without a body can contact the living, I referre to the concept of psychokinesis. Since a ghost doesn't have a voice box to speak with, the only way it can get a message through to a person (or other ghost) is through the use of telepathy from the mind of the ghost to the mind of the living. Another hypothesis is that a ghost can create a bodily form and even create a larynx out of that spirit substance known as ectoplasm. It is well known that apparitions appear much more easily than they speak. Ghosts don't look like white-sheeted figures. They look like people and seem pretty solid, although some may be a little fuzzy or faded around the edges.

A ghost is simply a part of the human mind that can coexist in the physical world outside the physical body, either split off during life, or surviving at the death of the body, as an energy field floats around in its pure disembodied state and uses psi abilities to receive information and interact with people and objects. If this is true, why is it that ghosts are rarely - if ever - seen nude? Not only do they always appear fully clothed, but they often carry all sorts of other objects- tools, weapons, lamps, torches, etc. Where do these come from? Why, they are projected by the mind of the apparition of course. A telepathic message is sent so that the observer sees exactly what the ghost wants him or her to see. Therefore, anything is possible. If telepathy is used, sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and anything else can be impressed upon our minds and translated into sensations and perceptions, giving rise to experiences we interpret as "real." Ghosts can also imprint these psi images on film or into tape recorders. This is where we get ghost photos of apparitions and evp voices on tape. I have found they can also imprint these images and sounds into digital equipment. They somehow can alter the digital crystals used in digital cameras and recorders to show their images.

If you feel inclined not to go along with the idea of free-floating electromagnetic energy fields as the solution to ghosts, you will probably feel even less inclined to support the old but still valued notion of psychometry. This is a psychic gift some people, who don't even know they have, can feel the presence of a ghost or can witness a record of events trapped in time to play back. This is a residual haunting. If you are sensitive and you enter a hotel room where a gruesome murder took place some years ago, sooner or later you will be able to see the original murder take place again before your very eyes. As theory goes, whenever a human being undergoes a highly emotional or traumatic experience, this "mind stuff" somehow or other interpenetrates all surrounding material, enviromental objects and a record of these events is made. At a later date, when the properly attuned psychic visits this site, he or she is able to watch the original event in its entirety.
